Edify Energy secures financing for Queensland solar and battery hybrids
Edify Energy has reached financial close for its Ganymirra and Majors Creek solar and battery hybrid projects in Queensland, Australia. The integrated assets will combine 360MWp of solar generation with 300MW/1,200MWh of battery storage using reverse DC-coupled technology and grid-forming inverters.
Scheduled to become operational in 2028, the projects are expected to provide electricity for over 100,000 homes. The development is supported by the Australian Government’s Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS), marking Edify’s third and fourth projects to reach financial close under this scheme.
The projects are backed by a funding pool involving 14 local and international lenders. DT Infrastructure has been appointed as the EPC contractor, while CATL will serve as the battery supplier. Approximately $450 million is expected to flow into local communities through regional supply chains, employment, and First Nations businesses.
