Edinburgh Military Tattoo 2026 Returns with International “Call to Gather”

The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is set to stage its 2026 show on the Edinburgh Castle Esplanade in August. More than 800 performers from Europe, New Zealand, Qatar, the United States and Scotland will appear under the theme “A Call to Gather,” highlighting cultural connection across continents. The event’s lead service is the Royal Air Force, and the programme will feature the Massed Pipes and Drums alongside a diverse lineup of music, dance and military precision displays. Organisers stress the show’s role in fostering global cultural exchange, noting that the Tattoo has donated over £14.5 million to services and the arts.

Chief Executive Jason Barrett and Creative Director Alan Lane highlighted the importance of the gathering, describing the performance as a powerful reflection of the Tattoo’s historic mission to unite audiences through shared artistic expression.
