Edinburgh murder of Vikki Soloman leads to suspect's suicide in prison
Vikki Soloman, 44, was found dead on 20 July at a property on Craigievar Square in Edinburgh after emergency services responded to reports of a disturbance. Police arrested 46‑year‑old Lee Greenan, who walked into a nearby pub covered in blood and admitted to killing his ex‑partner. Greenan was charged with murder and two counts of assault and remanded in custody.
On 26 July, Greenan was found dead in HMP Edinburgh. Scottish Prison Service and Police Scotland said the death appeared to be a suicide and no suspicious circumstances were identified. A Fatal Accident Inquiry will be held to examine the circumstances of both deaths. Police investigations continue, and the Crown Office has been contacted for comment.
