Edinburgh Zoo invites public to name newborn capybara triplets

Edinburgh Zoo has launched a social media competition to name three newborn capybara pups. The triplets, born to parents Luna and Rodney, consist of two males and one female.

Veterinary teams from the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) have completed initial health checks, including weighing and microchipping the week-old animals. The birth follows the arrival of a capybara named Bru in May, who was the first born in Scotland in 18 years.

Public voters can choose from five themed name sets: Scottish food and drink, Scottish islands, Scottish geography, characters from the sitcom Still Game, or space-themed names inspired by the mother, Luna.
