Capybara births at Edinburgh Zoo
Overview
Edinburgh Zoo announced the birth of capybara triplets to parents Luna and Rodney. The newborns were discovered by keepers on October 28 and have been undergoing health checks by veterinary teams from the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland.
The triplets, consisting of two males and one female, have been microchipped and weighed. Following the birth, the zoo launched a social media competition inviting the public to name the animals using five themed categories: Scottish food and drink, Scottish islands, Scottish geography, characters from the sitcom Still Game, or space-themed names inspired by the mother.
