Editors band Surface, Echo & Sound new album release British indie rock Tom Smith

British band Editors are returning to a more organic and intimate sound with their eighth studio album, titled ‘Surface, Echo & Sound’. Following the electronic experimentation of their 2022 release, EBM, the band has adopted a more essential approach to songwriting and production.

For this project, the group moved away from external producers, with guitarist Justin Lockey taking on the producer role. The recording process involved the band members playing instruments together in a room, incorporating acoustic guitars, mandolin, bass, and drums. The new material explores themes related to the noise of the modern world and its emotional impact.

The album is scheduled for release on October 30. The band is also set to perform in Italy for a single date at Alcatraz in Milan on February 3.
