Ediz Bahtiyaroğlu remembered on 14th anniversary of death
Turkish football community is commemorating the 14th anniversary of the death of former player Ediz Bahtiyaroğlu. Born in 1986, the defender passed away on September 5, 2012, at the age of 26 due to a sudden heart attack.
Bahtiyaroğlu began his career in the Bursaspor youth academy before playing for several clubs, including Ankaraspor, Keçiörengücü, MKE Ankaragücü, Bucaspor, and most recently, Eskişehirspor. He also represented the Turkey U21 National Team, earning nine caps and scoring one goal.
Following his death, autopsy reports indicated no harmful substances were present, attributing the cause to natural processes. Both Bursaspor and Eskişehirspor have issued commemorative messages to honor his memory.
