Edmonton police search for two missing children and their father

Authorities in Edmonton, Canada, are searching for two children, nine-year-old Lesley and six-year-old George, who have been missing since August 28. The children were last seen with their father, 42-year-old Scot MacDermid, near the Manning Town Centre in Edmonton.

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has issued a public alert for MacDermid and the minors. While investigators have recovered the father's vehicle and cell phone within Canada, there are currently no traces of the three individuals. The children's mother, Edilenia López Aquino, a Dominican citizen residing in Canada, has shared that she and MacDermid previously shared custody of the children.

López Aquino has expressed concern that the father may have traveled to the Dominican Republic, citing MacDermid's business ties in the province of Puerto Plata. She has appealed to both Canadian and Dominican authorities and citizens for assistance in locating the children.
