Edo State Police arrest multiple suspects for various crimes

The Edo State Police Command has paraded several suspects arrested for various crimes, including sexual assault, kidnapping, vandalism, and cultism.

Orji Okoro was arrested for the alleged sexual assault of a 12-year-old male apprentice. During his arrest, Okoro admitted to the act, attributing his behavior to alcohol and spiritual influence.

In a separate case, Chigozie Anthony was apprehended for allegedly luring a girl he met on TikTok to his residence and demanding a N500,000 ransom from her parents. Anthony claimed the incident was a planned arrangement with the girl to secure funds for her nursing training.

Additionally, police arrested five suspected cult members in Benin City and Akpakpava. Officers recovered several locally made pistols and a double-barrel gun during these operations. The command also detained individuals involved in the vandalism of equipment belonging to Africa Independent Television (AIT), valued at over N4 million.
