Edo State Police arrest two men for child abuse and abduction

The Edo State Police Command has arrested two men in connection with separate cases of child abduction and sexual abuse.

Kadiri Edenokun, 57, was apprehended in Jattu for the alleged defilement of his six-year-old stepdaughter. Police stated that the suspect confessed to committing the offense multiple times. The child is currently receiving medical treatment through the Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs.

In a separate incident, police arrested Nicholas Nusa, 50, a self-styled prophet from Divine Grace Church. Nusa is accused of abducting five girls from the Ibillo/Imoga area between September 2025 and April 2026. Investigations revealed that one of the victims, a 15-year-old girl, was impregnated and has since undergone a Caesarean section. The police are working to reunite the other abducted children with their families.

Commissioner of Police Patrick Daaor emphasized that the command will not tolerate sexual violence against children and urged the public to remain vigilant.
