Edson Fernando to miss Remo matches against Grêmio and Vasco

Remo midfielder Edson Fernando will miss upcoming Campeonato Brasileiro matches against Grêmio and Vasco due to a four-game suspension imposed by the Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva (STJD). The suspension stems from a red card received during a match against Flamengo, where the player was accused of insulting an official.

While the player denied calling the referee a ‘thief,’ arguing the confrontation was merely a heated moment regarding stoppage time, the STJD's Fourth Disciplinary Commission reviewed the incident. Although the rapporteur suggested reclassifying the offense to a lesser charge due to the player's clean record, the original four-game penalty remains in effect. Having already served two matches, Fernando will remain unavailable for the next two fixtures.
