Clube do Remo roster updates and relegation battle

Overview

Clube do Remo has undergone recent roster changes involving key players. Midfielder Edson Fernando was initially sidelined for two matches due to a four-game suspension issued by the Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva (STJD) following an incident involving a match official.

Fernando has since returned to availability for upcoming fixtures, overcoming both his suspension and a recent pubic injury. Additionally, the club has secured a contract extension for 38-year-old goalkeeper Marcelo Rangel, who is set to remain with the team through the end of 2029.

As the club enters the 31st round of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, it faces a critical match against Red Bull Bragantino at the Mangueirão stadium in Belém. Currently sitting in 19th place with 25 points, Remo is attempting to avoid relegation and end a 12-game winless streak.

While the squad receives boosts with the return of midfielder Edson Fernando and attacker Galeano, the team faces a setback in goal. Due to a suspension for Marcelo Rangel, Ivan Quaresma is expected to start the match.
