Eduardo Bittar wins Córdoba election for judicial council
Eduardo Bittar, president of the Córdoba Bar Association, secured a decisive victory in Córdoba during the national elections for representatives to the Consejo de la Magistratura de la Nación. Running with Lista 3 in alliance with national radicalism, Bittar’s group captured approximately 51.2% of the vote in the province, outperforming the ticket backed by provincial governor Martín Llaryora by nearly 15 percentage points.
The Córdoba results were instrumental in securing a national victory for Lista 3 over Lista 4, which won the national race by a margin of only 644 votes. While Bittar’s alliance won the national contest, Bittar himself will not join the judicial body as he placed third on the list. Instead, Itatí Demarchi of Lista 4 will assume a seat in December after her group secured second place nationally.
The election determines representatives for the 2026–2030 term for the body responsible for selecting, disciplining, and removing federal and national judges in Argentina. Bittar’s win marks the fourth consecutive victory for his alliance, which includes the Franja Morada from the National University of Córdoba.
