Brazil Senate candidates secure regional political endorsements

Various political candidates for the Senate in Brazil are securing regional endorsements and strengthening their campaigns.

In Acre, Eduardo Velloso received the support of former Rio Branco councilwoman Lene Petecão, who cited his proactive mandate and long-standing relationship with him.

In Pernambuco, Eduardo da Fonte has gained support from the mayor of Sirinhaém, Manoel da Retífica, and the vice-mayor of Paulista, Felipe Andrade. Da Fonte emphasized his commitment to defending state interests and maintaining a positive relationship with Governor Raquel Lyra.

In Paraíba, former Governor João Azevêdo secured the endorsement of Sapé Mayor Major Sidnei and state deputy candidate Denise Ribeiro. Azevêdo also addressed rumors of friction with fellow candidate Nabor Wanderley, dismissing them as mere rumors and reaffirming his support for Lucas Ribeiro for Governor.

In Maranhão, Dr. Hilton Gonçalo held a large political meeting in São Luís, receiving the support of councilman Beto Castro and 12 other council members to bolster his Senate candidacy.
