Eduardo Paes tours Porto do Açu, urges state to improve road access

Pre‑candidate for Rio de Janeiro governor Eduardo Paes visited the Porto do Açu complex in São João da Barra on June 23, accompanied by state deputy Carla Machado, federal deputy Pedro Paulo, mayors Carla Caputi and Yara Cinthia, among others. Paes called the port “the crown” of the state’s logistics and stressed that the state must fulfill its part by improving road connections, reducing truck traffic through Campos dos Goytacazes, and advancing the EF‑118 railway corridor.

During the visit Paes received the title of citizen of São João da Barra. He highlighted the project’s potential to attract fertilizer plants and generate jobs, while urging coordinated action among municipal, state and federal authorities to maximize the port’s economic benefits.
