Educational initiatives focus on teacher training and female leadership in Gabon and Côte d'Ivoire

In Gabon, a large-scale continuous training seminar was held in Libreville from August 31 to September 5 to prepare teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. Educators from primary and secondary levels, covering general, technical, and professional sectors, participated in specialized modules. Training focused on mathematics at Lycée Paul Idjedjet Gondjout and Life and Earth Sciences at Lycée National Léon Mba to strengthen scientific foundations and integrate new pedagogical approaches.

In Côte d'Ivoire, the Network of Female Teachers and Trade Unionists of West Africa (RESAO) held a training session in Bonoua from August 31 to September 2. The workshop focused on gender equality, women's empowerment, and strengthening female leadership within trade unions. The event brought together female educators from Mali, Togo, Benin, Senegal, Burkina Faso, and Côte d'Ivoire. Leaders emphasized the need for women to take active roles in decision-making processes within educational and union organizations to ensure the future of the sector.
