Educational innovations support health and literacy in Germany and New Zealand
In Lüdenscheid, Germany, the DRK-Kita Waldwichtel has become the first daycare center in the Märkischer Kreis to be officially certified by the Kneipp-Bund. The facility integrates the five pillars of the Kneipp concept—water, movement, lifestyle, nutrition, and herbs—into its daily pedagogical routine to promote holistic health and immunity for its 60 children.
In New Zealand, the Auckland-based project Capiche is gaining traction as a writing tool for individuals with dyslexia. Used in over 75 schools, the tool is described as ‘anti-generative,’ meaning it supports the writing process without automatically composing text for the user. This follows similar digital literacy trends, such as Osnabrück-based startups using QR codes to turn physical books into interactive reading experiences for children and those with reading difficulties.
