Educational institutions celebrate significant anniversaries in Chile and Uruguay
The Colegio Gabriela Mistral in Coquimbo, Chile, marked its 70th anniversary with a community parade on October 23. The event, held on Francisco Carmona Street, featured students and staff marching before local authorities, including Coquimbo Mayor Alí Manouchehri and school director Luisa Cuello. During the ceremony, the school presented the Gabriela Mistral medal to several local officials and community members to recognize their contributions.
In Villa Tambores, Uruguay, Escuela N.º 64 ‘José Enrique Rodó’ celebrated 125 years of educational service. The institution, which traces its origins back to 1901, held a commemorative act attended by local and departmental education authorities, faculty, and alumni. Director Cynthia Pérez noted that while the school has moved locations throughout its history, it has remained a cornerstone of the community since its arrival in Villa Tambores.
