Educational institutions in Chile and Peru expand STEM and digital technology infrastructure
Educational institutions in Chile and Peru are expanding their technological infrastructure to integrate modern digital tools into curricula.
In Paipote, Chile, the Instituto Fernando Ariztía Ruiz inaugurated its first MakerSTEM classroom. Supported by Assist International and the Caterpillar Foundation, and promoted by Fundación Chile, the 100 m² space incorporates robotics, prototyping, programming, and augmented reality. The initiative aims to align technical-professional training with Industry 4.0 standards through a STEM-focused approach.
In Puno, Peru, the Universidad Nacional del Altiplano’s School of Communication marked its 44th anniversary by announcing progress on a new five-story infrastructure project, which is currently 50% complete. The school plans to implement specialized laboratories for artificial intelligence and augmented reality, alongside a 500-capacity auditorium, to enhance audiovisual production and student training.
