Educational safety initiatives target students in Brazil
Various educational programs in Brazil are focusing on risk prevention and safety awareness among school children. In Rio Branco do Sul, volunteers from Votorantim Cimentos conducted an interactive quiz for 90 students from the Colégio Estadual José Ermírio de Moraes. The initiative aimed to teach children how to recognize and avoid common household and school hazards, such as improper use of medications, climbing furniture, and preventing dengue by eliminating standing water.
In São José do Rio Preto, the second edition of the Knowledge Olympics in Civil Defense was held at the Escola Municipal Professora Lydia Sanfelice. Organized by the Municipal Coordination for Protection and Civil Defense in partnership with the State of São Paulo, the program targets 5th-grade students. The project focuses on Education for Risk and Disaster Reduction (ERRD) to foster a culture of self-protection and prepare students to act safely during adverse situations.
