Educational safety and development initiatives

Various educational programs are being implemented to support child development and safety. In Romania, initiatives include emotional education workshops in Braila to help children recognize and express emotions, and a long-term project in Brasov focused on bullying prevention, online safety, and violence prevention through August 2027.

In Brazil, programs are targeting risk prevention and safety awareness. These include interactive sessions in Rio Branco do Sul regarding household and school hazards, as well as the Knowledge Olympics in Civil Defense in Sao Jose do Rio Preto, which focuses on disaster reduction and self-protection for students. Recent efforts in Apucarana involve Municipal Guard traffic safety blitzes for students, while the Semeando Consciência project in Rio de Janeiro uses cinema to discuss urban mobility and traffic safety.

Recent developments in Romania and Moldova have expanded the focus to include literacy and critical thinking. In Moldova, the Ministry of Education and Research is introducing dedicated reading hours to improve PISA test results, with an emphasis on contemporary literature. The LECTURA project at Alecu Russo State University uses reading circles, such as those focused on Ion Creangă, to train future educators. Romanian literacy efforts include the Mentorat pentru lectură project in Bucharest and Constanta, and the Perspective literare 2026 project in Botosani. Additionally, the Radio-Prichindel program in Bucharest utilizes audiobooks and graphic novels to engage students.

Safety efforts in Romania have also extended to Neamt, where police conducted school inspections to address absenteeism, bullying, and substance abuse.
