West and Central Africa: Educational support initiatives launched

Various humanitarian and local initiatives across West and Central Africa are providing educational support to vulnerable students ahead of the new school year.

In Burkina Faso, the Caisse populaire de Dapoya awarded scholarships worth 2,650,000 F CFA to 43 orphans, while the URCB/SD provided study grants and kits to 125 vulnerable students in Tougan through the ‘Sini Gnèsigui’ project.

In Côte d'Ivoire, Dr. Paul Dakuyo donated 5,000 school kits to students in Bouaké, and the Ufe-Af organization equipped 60 disadvantaged children in Port Bouet with essential supplies. Additionally, in the Djandji canton, 36 students and teachers received kits to encourage mathematical excellence.

Other regional efforts include the LTPE distributing over 300 kits to students with disabilities in Togo, and the association Nandu partnering with WEGE Company to support 56 students in Burundi. In Cameroon, Senator Yvette Ngbwa Balla provided didactic materials to schools in Ngoulemakong to promote academic excellence. In Gabon, the Avenir Prospère association, supported by President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, distributed 1,700 kits in Port-Gentil. Finally, in Niger, approximately 49 tonnes of school supplies arrived in Agadez to facilitate the upcoming academic term.
