Educational updates in Greece and Cyprus

In Greece, DYPA has extended the application deadline for paid apprenticeships in the tourism and hospitality sectors. The applications for the seven Experimental Vocational Schools (PEPAS) for the 2026-27 academic year will now close on Sunday, September 20, 2026. Eligible candidates must be at least 18 years old with a middle school diploma. Specific roles, such as Hotel Receptionist, require B2-level proficiency in a foreign language.

In Cyprus, the PSEM student union has called for a lesson boycott on Wednesday, September 16, during the fourth teaching period. The protest coincides with a meeting of the Parliament's Education Committee. Students are demanding improved school conditions, including the installation of air conditioning, safer infrastructure, a reduction in curriculum volume, and respect for student voices regarding dress codes.
