Edwards Coaches appointed to operate new TaithCymru coach service

Edwards Coaches and Llew Jones have been appointed to operate TaithCymru, a new coach service from Transport for Wales designed to connect north and south-west Wales. Scheduled to launch on 25 October 2026, the service will provide nine daily return trips between Bangor and Carmarthen.

The route will include stops at Caernarfon, Porthmadog, Dolgellau, Machynlleth, Aberystwyth University, Aberystwyth Bus Station, and Aberaeron. To improve connectivity with rail and ferry services, one late-night journey per day will extend beyond Bangor to Holyhead Railway Station and Port, aiding travelers to and from Anglesey and Ireland.

Transport for Wales expects the new connection to reduce journey times by up to 80 minutes, facilitating easier travel for work, education, healthcare, and leisure. Both Edwards Coaches and Llew Jones are currently recruiting drivers to prepare for the service launch.
