EEA Grants to launch €10.5M Culture Programme in Portugal
The EEA Grants 2021-2028 Culture Programme is scheduled for launch on October 2 at the Convento de São Bento de Cástris in Évora. Managed by Património Cultural I. P. and partnered with the Direção-Geral das Artes, the programme features a total allocation of €10.5 million.
The funding is divided into two main axes: the Cultural Heritage axis, which focuses on the sustainable revitalization of coastal heritage, climate change adaptation, and support for research, innovation, and digitalization; and the Arts axis, which aims to strengthen cultural offerings in low-density population areas while promoting diversity and inclusion. Three upcoming calls for projects are expected to support innovation in heritage valuation and community strengthening.
Additionally, the second phase of registration is open until September 25 for the international conference “Shaping Ecological Futures: Arts Institutions and Cultural Policy.” The event will take place in October at the Teatro Académico Gil Vicente in Coimbra, organized by the Direção-Geral das Artes in partnership with the University of Coimbra’s Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies (CEIS20).
