Effia Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly Pushes for Transparency and Sustainable Growth
During the Second Ordinary Meeting of the First Session, Member of Parliament Isaac Yaw Boamah called on the Effia Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly (EKMA) to tighten accountability and adopt transparent financial management. He emphasized that every cedi spent should produce tangible benefits in roads, schools, health, sanitation and that robust internal controls and regular public updates are essential as the assembly reviews its revised 2026 Annual Action Plan and composite budget.
Municipal Chief Executive Abdul‑Majeed Dokurgu reiterated the assembly’s commitment to sustainable development, noting improvements in healthcare access, road networks and agricultural support. He reported that 192 farmers received training in climate‑smart practices, that the assembly generated GH₵16.17 million in revenue (about 11.6 % of the projected budget), and that security remained generally peaceful.
