Egypt advances urban development and investment in new cities

Egypt's Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities is advancing urban development through environmental initiatives and new investment opportunities in new cities.

As part of the presidential ‘100 Million Trees’ initiative, the New Administrative Capital is undergoing intensive afforestation and maintenance. As of June 30, 2026, approximately 178,440 diverse trees have been planted in the city. The development authority is currently planting an additional 10,000 trees and expanding the use of automatic irrigation networks to enhance the city's green identity and environmental efficiency.

Simultaneously, the Ministry is offering various investment opportunities in new cities via digital platforms for both Egyptian and foreign investors. These offerings, available between the 1st and 15th of each month, aim to maximize the use of state assets and encourage private sector participation in urban development. Minister Randa El-Menshawy stated that these efforts support Egypt's Vision 2030 and aim to increase the private sector's contribution to the country's unprecedented urban expansion.
