Egypt agricultural exports exceed 6.2 million tons

Egypt's agricultural exports have exceeded 6.2 million tons, according to Alaa Farouk, the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation. The growth is attributed to the international reputation of Egyptian products and the implementation of strict quality control, inspection, and traceability systems.

According to a report by the Central Administration of Agricultural Quarantine, citrus fruits led the exports with 2.3 million tons. Other top commodities included fresh potatoes (918,000 tons), sweet potatoes (over 235,000 tons), grapes (180,000 tons), and fresh onions (155,000 tons). Significant quantities of beans, strawberries, garlic, tomatoes, mangoes, guava, and pomegranates were also exported.

The Ministry aims to continue expanding into new markets across Africa, Asia, and the Americas by maintaining international quality standards and enhancing supply chain efficiency.
