Egypt Agriculture Ministry reports field campaigns and pesticide seizures in July 2026

The Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation released two reports covering activities in the fourth week of July and the month as a whole. The ministry highlighted extensive field work, including trials on beans, soy, corn, and rice across several governorates, and organized scientific lectures, field days, and training workshops for farmers. It also launched a cotton trainer‑of‑trainers program with UNIDO and CottonConnect, and developed a machine to process corn stalks using locally sourced components.

In parallel, the ministry intensified pest‑control operations, treating over 289,000 feddans for rodents and other pests, and combating the fall armyworm on more than 45,000 feddans of corn. It also carried out weed control on about 20,000 feddans and cleared over 1,100 km of drainage canals. Inspection campaigns targeted 1,475 pesticide outlets, resulting in the seizure of 56,000 illegal pesticide packages and 872 non‑compliant items, with 37 legal proceedings opened.
