Egypt and Chad strengthen strategic and economic ties

An Egyptian delegation, including Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and various ministers, met with Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby to strengthen bilateral ties and strategic partnerships. In the economic sphere, officials highlighted the importance of the corridor linking Egypt, Libya, and Chad to boost trade, logistics, energy, and infrastructure. There is an active push to involve the private sector and Egyptian businessmen in the Chadian market through upcoming business forums.

Educational cooperation is being bolstered by the presence of a University of Alexandria branch in N'Djamena, with plans to expand its facilities to include medical services. Both nations also discussed increasing scholarships for Chadian students in Egyptian universities and updating academic cooperation agreements.

Furthermore, the meetings reviewed recent successes in health cooperation, such as Egyptian medical convoys performing hundreds of eye surgeries and the establishment of dialysis centers in Chad.
