Egypt and Germany agree to establish ten German‑Egyptian technical schools

Egypt’s Minister of Education and Technical Education, Mohamed Abdel Latif, signed a joint declaration of intent with German State Minister Nils Annen in Berlin, outlining a partnership to develop German‑Egyptian technical schools that meet international ISO accreditation standards and incorporate dual‑track vocational training and German‑language instruction.

A subsequent cooperation protocol with the engineering investment firm Samcrete plans to create and operate ten German‑Egyptian applied‑technology schools starting in the 2026‑27 academic year. The schools will feature modern workshops, competency‑based curricula, and industry links aimed at improving graduate employability in Egypt and Germany, supporting the country’s Vision 2030 goals for human‑capital development.
