Egypt and Pakistan urge resumption of Iran-US Islamabad Understanding

The Foreign Ministers of Egypt and Pakistan, Badr Abdelatty and Mohammad Ishaq Dar, held a telephone consultation to discuss regional developments and diplomatic efforts to contain tensions.

During the call, both ministers emphasized the necessity of resuming the implementation of the Islamabad Understanding between Iran and the United States. They stressed the importance of reaching a comprehensive and lasting agreement to end conflict and prevent the expansion of hostilities in the region.

The two officials also agreed on the need for continued close coordination, both bilaterally and through a regional four-country mechanism involving Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, aimed at aligning positions and reducing military and political tensions.
