Egypt and Qatar urge compliance with Trump Gaza peace plan

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met in Al Alamein to discuss regional stability and the implementation of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Both leaders urged all parties to honor their commitments to the peace plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump to end the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

The leaders emphasized the necessity of coordinating efforts to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza and to support rapid reconstruction once stability is achieved. They also expressed concern regarding escalating tensions in the West Bank and Jerusalem, specifically citing the expansion of settlements and increased attacks.

Beyond the conflict in Gaza, the meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Egypt and Qatar, with President el-Sisi expressing interest in increasing Qatari investments across various Egyptian economic sectors.
