Egypt Begins July 2026 Pension and Takaful Payments Amid Debate Over New Increases

The National Social Insurance Authority announced that pension payments for July 2026 will be distributed from 1 July through the end of the month, reaching about 11.5 million beneficiaries. Payments can be collected via ATMs, bank branches, post offices, or mobile electronic wallets.

President Abdel Fattah el‑Sisi signed a decree granting a 15 % increase to pension benefits starting the first of July. The Ministry of Social Solidarity clarified that the Takaful & Karama cash assistance program will begin disbursement on 15 July, but no new increase has been announced; the last raise was a 25 % hike in April 2025.

Both agencies provided online steps for beneficiaries to verify their entitlements using national ID numbers on the respective ministry websites.
