Egypt-China relations enter ‘golden age’ as Parliament supports investment

Mustafa Muzayriq, a member of the Egyptian Parliament's Foreign Relations Committee, has described the relationship between Egypt and China as entering a ‘golden age.’ He noted that an upcoming visit by the Chinese President to Egypt underscores Egypt's regional and international standing as a pillar of stability in the Middle East and Africa.

Muzayriq emphasized that the Egyptian Parliament is committed to supporting legislation and legal frameworks designed to facilitate Chinese investment. Key sectors targeted for cooperation include renewable energy, artificial intelligence, sustainable local manufacturing, ports, and railways.

The economic integration is further bolstered by the Belt and Road Initiative, which aligns with Egypt's urban and economic development plans. This partnership allows China to utilize Egypt's strategic location as a gateway to African and Arab markets, while Egypt gains access to advanced technology and capital to support its national economy.
