Egypt civil service salary increase takes effect in August 2026

Egypt's Ministry of Finance announced that salaries for the state administrative workforce will be paid starting 23 August 2026, with arrears scheduled for 6, 9 and 10 August. Payments can be collected at bank branches, Egyptian Post offices and ATMs nationwide, and employees are urged to avoid crowds at the machines.

The wage revision introduced in July 2026 raises the minimum monthly pay for each civil service grade: Grade Excellent – EGP 14,900; High Grade – EGP 12,900; Director‑General – EGP 11,400; First Grade – EGP 10,800; Second Grade – EGP 9,500. The civil service law also outlines how salaries are calculated, the procedures for secondments, transfers and promotions, and the criteria for performance‑based advancement.

These measures aim to streamline payroll distribution and implement the new salary scale across all government agencies.
