Egypt's Badr Abdelatty urges regional de-escalation and US-Iran talks

In discussions with Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Abdelatty emphasized the necessity of returning to diplomatic channels. The two ministers also highlighted the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz, stressing the need to safeguard maritime navigation and the global flow of energy and trade.
Abdelatty also held separate communications with officials from Bahrain and Mali. Regarding Bahrain, he expressed Egypt's full solidarity with the nation's security and sovereignty. In discussions with US advisor Massad Boulos, the focus shifted to the humanitarian crisis in Sudan and the political situation in Libya, where Abdelatty noted that simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections are vital for Libyan stability.
Additionally, Abdelatty met with Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani in Cairo to discuss the Palestinian issue, Nile water security, and bilateral cooperation, reinforcing Egypt's commitment to regional stability and its national water security.
