Egypt coordinates with UK and Bahrain on regional security

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held separate telephone discussions with British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband and Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani to address regional security and stability.

In discussions with the United Kingdom, the ministers emphasized the importance of diplomatic dialogue and negotiation to avoid military escalation, noting the potential impact on energy security, freedom of navigation, and international trade supply chains. Regarding the situation in Gaza, both parties called for the implementation of the U.S. peace plan and condemned Israeli violations in the West Bank and Gaza.

During talks with Bahrain, the ministers focused on de-escalating tensions and ensuring the safety of international maritime waterways in accordance with international law. Abdelatty also discussed Egypt's efforts to contain the crisis in Sudan, emphasizing the necessity of maintaining Sudan's sovereignty and territorial integrity while facilitating humanitarian aid and a comprehensive political process.
