Egypt deploys emergency transformers to restore power after multi‑day outage

A major electricity failure left the city of Al Qanaia and several villages in the Zaqaziq district of Sharqia without power for several days, prompting public complaints. The Ismailia electricity company responded by dispatching ten emergency transformers to provide temporary supply while repairs on the main fault continue. Officials said the temporary installations will allow gradual restoration of service until the network is fully repaired.

Separately, experts warned that sudden power cuts and voltage surges can damage electronic devices. They advised users to unplug equipment before storms, back up data, use surge‑protectors rated for at least 2000 joules, and employ UPS units—ideally distributing load across several units—to give enough time to shut down safely during outages.
