Egypt expands healthcare services through national initiatives and medical sector development

The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population is advancing its medical services through large-scale initiatives and strategic development conferences. In Dakahlia, the ‘100 Days of Health’ campaign reached its 46th day, providing over 85,000 free medical services. These services included primary care, maternal and child health, dental care, and emergency services, as well as vaccinations and environmental health inspections.

Simultaneously, the Ministry organized the ‘From Performance to Excellence’ conference to review the therapeutic medicine sector. Officials reported that the sector served approximately 7 million citizens last year, noting a 40% increase in medical decisions and a reduction in patient waiting lists. The conference highlighted expansions in specialized care, including the increase of cardiac catheterization hospitals to 23 and stroke units to 60. The emergency and critical care systems have also achieved ISO certification, supported by a network of 335 blood banks.
