Egypt expands investment landscape with new industrial and hedge funds
Egypt is expanding its financial and industrial landscape through new investment vehicles. The Sovereign Fund of Egypt (TSFE) has approved the creation of the Egypt Sub-Fund for Industrial Investment. This fund has an authorized capital of 10 billion Egyptian pounds and a subscribed capital of 1 billion pounds, with an initial 500 million pounds to be paid upon launch.
The fund aims to boost local manufacturing, particularly in sectors such as automotive components, electronics, food processing, textiles, and pharmaceuticals. It seeks to increase export capabilities and technological capacity through partnerships with private investors and international firms.
In the financial services sector, CI Capital Asset Management plans to launch Egypt’s first equity-focused hedge fund by the end of 2026. This move follows new regulatory frameworks introduced by the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) that allow for alternative investment strategies, including the use of derivatives and margin trading. CI Capital has set a first-year asset target of EGP 250 million.
