Egypt expands pension payouts and child benefits in August 2026

The National Social Insurance Authority announced that pension payments for August 2026 will be distributed starting Saturday, 1 August, under a continued 15 % increase for the second month in a row. About 11.5 million retirees and pension‑claimants will receive the boost, costing roughly 70 billion Egyptian pounds annually, with the maximum individual increase capped at 2,505 EGP. Payments can be collected through the authority’s standard network of outlets, and beneficiaries may check their amounts online via the official website by entering their national ID.

Under the new Child Law, three groups of children are entitled to a monthly allowance of at least 60 EGP: (1) orphans or children whose father or both parents are unknown, (2) children of a single‑mother or a divorced mother who remarried or whose husband died, and (3) children of parents who are legally detained, imprisoned, or otherwise confined for at least one month. The law also outlines reporting duties for birth registration and reinforces children's rights to health, education, and basic needs.
