Egypt extends real estate tax filing deadline to December 2026

Egypt's Minister of Finance, Ahmed Kouchouk, has announced an extension for citizens to submit real estate tax declarations until the end of December 2026. This move aims to provide taxpayers with additional time to complete property data and utilize new incentives.

Furthermore, the period to benefit from exemptions on late payment penalties has been extended until April 2, 2027. Under Law No. 3 of 2026, taxpayers can be exempt from these penalties if they settle all outstanding principal taxes within the specified timeframe. The Ministry is also expanding digital services, including a mobile application for registering units and submitting declarations, to simplify the process for taxpayers.
