Egypt, Palestine and Kuwait face extreme heat in early August 2026

Meteorological services in Palestine, Kuwait and Egypt warned of unusually high temperatures for the first week of August 2026. In the Palestinian territories, forecasts called for daytime heat 3‑4 °C above the seasonal average, with hot to very hot conditions in both mountainous and low‑lying areas and a risk of sun‑stroke, especially between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Kuwait’s General Department of Meteorology predicted humid, scorching conditions across most of the country, with maximum perceived temperatures reaching 44 °C in southern Upper Egypt and 38 °C in Cairo. The agency also warned of early‑morning water fog on major roads and strong winds that could raise sea waves up to 3 m, disrupting maritime navigation in the Red Sea and Suez Gulf.

Egypt’s Meteorological Authority issued a detailed heat outlook for the week of 5‑11 August, noting persistent hot‑humid weather, elevated humidity that will make temperatures feel 2‑4 °C higher, and occasional light rain. The forecast highlighted water fog on highways from the north to the south, strong breezes that may stir dust in the Red Sea and Upper Egypt, and advised the public to avoid prolonged sun exposure, stay hydrated and monitor updates.
