Egypt: Gang steals 105kg of frozen chicken from moving truck

A gang of six individuals stole 105 kilograms of frozen chicken from a moving refrigerated truck on a desert road in Egypt. The incident occurred on August 25, 2026, on the route connecting Cairo to Ismaïlia, specifically in the El Shorouk sector.

Footage captured by a motorist showed a pickup truck driving alongside the moving heavy goods vehicle, allowing suspects to access the rear and transfer seven 15-kilogram batches of poultry without the truck stopping. The driver, who was transporting approximately four tons of chicken to 10-Ramadan City, was alerted to the theft by other motorists.

Following the viral spread of the video, Egyptian security forces located the suspects. During the subsequent police intervention, a shootout occurred. Three suspects were killed during the exchange of gunfire, while the remaining three were arrested. Authorities recovered the stolen 105 kilograms of chicken, and the survivors face legal proceedings.
