Egypt government raises July 2026 civil service salaries
The Egyptian Ministry of Finance announced that July 2026 salaries for civil servants will be paid with a new wage‑increase package. The minimum monthly wage rises to 8,000 Egyptian pounds and a periodic allowance of 12% is added for employees covered by the civil service law, with a 15% allowance for those not covered. An additional teaching incentive of 1,000 EGP per month is granted to roughly one million teachers, and a 2,000 EGP merit bonus is provided to school administrators. Health‑sector staff receive an extra 750 EGP per month and a 25% increase in night‑shift allowances.
Payroll distribution will begin on 20 July (with some sources noting 24 July) and will be available for five consecutive days through ATMs, bank branches, post offices and digital payment platforms. The total cost of the salary uplift is estimated at 822.8 billion EGP, with the new allowances adding about 77.5 billion EGP to the budget.
