Egypt health initiatives deliver 289 million medical services

Egypt's Ministry of Health and Population has announced significant milestones in public health and infrastructure. Since the launch of the ‘100 Million Seha’ presidential initiatives in 2018, the system has provided over 289 million medical services. These 16 initiatives include free screenings and treatments for Hepatitis C, non-communicable diseases, malnutrition in primary school students, and hearing loss in newborns.

Specific focus has been placed on maternal and child health, with over 72 million visits recorded for women's health initiatives and 4 million students benefiting from eye care programs. Additionally, the initiatives have provided screenings for chronic diseases, kidney ailments, and mental health support.

Parallel to these service expansions, the Ministry reported massive investments in health infrastructure. Between 2014 and 2026, 1,309 projects have been initiated or completed, with a total cost of 403.46 billion Egyptian pounds. To date, 981 projects have been finalized, while 328 projects remain under construction to expand hospital capacity and medical equipment across the country.
