Egypt Health Insurance Authority outlines new service development plan

Dr. Tamer Atef Madkour, Chairman of the General Authority for Health Insurance, has outlined a strategic roadmap to enhance medical services and institutional efficiency in Egypt. During a meeting with senior officials, Madkour emphasized that the citizen remains the central focus of the authority’s operations, prioritizing the improvement of healthcare quality and the speed of service delivery.

Key initiatives include accelerating digital transformation to link systems with the Social Insurance Authority, resolving issues related to medical service cards, and optimizing resource management through improved financial governance. The plan also focuses on restructuring administrative frameworks to prevent overlapping roles and improving the working environment for medical staff.

Additionally, the Cairo Governor, Dr. Ibrahim Saber, met with Madkour to discuss strengthening cooperation between the Cairo Governorate and the Health Insurance Authority. The discussion centered on coordinating efforts to ensure efficient healthcare access for residents and aligning local services with national goals for a sustainable and efficient health system.
