Egypt emphasizes diaspora support at seventh Egyptians Abroad Conference

The seventh Egyptians Abroad Conference opened in Cairo under the slogan “No matter how far we are, Egypt brings us together.” Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly delivered a recorded address, relaying President Abdel Fattah al‑Sisi’s greetings and stressing that Egyptians abroad are a vital source of foreign currency that helps the economy withstand regional and global challenges such as energy disruptions, higher fuel prices and rising inflation. Foreign Minister Badr Abdel‑Atti used the forum to reaffirm Egypt’s opposition to the displacement of Palestinians and the annexation of the West Bank, while expressing interest in implementing the second phase of the Trump plan for Gaza. Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk announced a dedicated investment fund for Egyptians living abroad, slated for launch in 2027, together with a digital platform and mobile applications to simplify investment, company registration and real‑estate tax services. Mohamed Awad, head of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, highlighted more than 1,300 investment opportunities across industry, logistics, renewable energy, tourism, ICT and agriculture, and described new fast‑track services for diaspora investors. Ministers of health, education, labor and youth also participated, outlining digital consular services, hot‑line support and other incentives aimed at strengthening ties with the Egyptian diaspora.
