Jared Kushner meets Egyptian President to discuss Gaza peace plan FAST-MOVING

Jared Kushner, special envoy and son-in-law of Donald Trump, met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in El Alamein to advance a U.S.-led peace plan for the Gaza Strip. The discussions focused on implementing a ceasefire and the details of a 15-point roadmap.

A Hamas delegation, led by Khalil al-Hayya, also met with Egyptian Intelligence Chief Hassan Rashad in El Alamein. The delegation reaffirmed its commitment to the Trump peace plan, which includes the disarmament of Hamas and a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza. Hamas officials noted that they are working with mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey to ensure Israel adheres to the agreement.

However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has explicitly rejected the 15-point document, demanding the real disarmament of Hamas as a prerequisite for any withdrawal. To bridge these diplomatic gaps, Kushner is scheduled to visit Israel next week to meet with Israeli leadership.

Additionally, Israeli authorities have reportedly given the green light for the deployment of an International Stabilization Force to oversee security in Gaza, a component of the proposed transition plan.
